Welcome to The Promise School. We are a brand new specialist school situated on the edge of picturesque Dartmoor. It is an incredible honour to be entrusted with the responsibility of shaping our new school to deliver a truly bespoke educational experience that will allow your child to thrive and flourish.  

Our school currently offers education to 80 students and aims to grow in the coming years to accommodate 100 students.  

All our students have EHCPs (education, health and care plans) with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) as their primary, identified need.  The majority of students also have additional special educational needs such as speech, language and communication difficulties, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), ASD (autism spectrum disorder), opposition defiance and attachment disorders. 

At the heart of our school, we are committed to supporting the young people in our care to build their self-esteem and confidence, develop meaningful and positive friendships and engage in a curriculum that will allow them to find success in their adult lives.

The Promise School team believe passionately in enabling the young people in their care to unlock this potential through building consistent and caring relationships, innovative teaching and a skillful understanding of the needs of every child.
